They Screwed Me So Now I'm Telling How To Get Free HBO/Cinemax

Ok.  So, I used to work for Verizon in Irving, TX.  The corporate office is on Hidden Ridge.  If you don't believe me, look it up.  Also, just to show you that I did work there, when you call them, ask how do they like VZ Insight over using VZ Info.  You will throw them off guard but anyways.  Let's get to this.

First of all, you must have Verizon FIOS.  If you don't have it, GET IT!  It really is the fastest around.  I was an employee as well as a customer.  I had to quit due to family health.  They decided that they weren't going to pay me my last couple of days.  Oh really?  Well, FUCK THEM!

Anyways, let's get on to this.

Let me give you some background on this.  The reps that answer the phones have only a 6 - 8 minute time frame to handle your call...depending on the location you call into.  The location you get is based on where you're calling in from.  So, this works because the agent doesn't have time to look up your history unless that's what you are calling in on.  I did this for 4 years, even before I worked for Verizon.

Now, this is what you do.  Call 1-800-Verizon and navigate through to customer service.  Tell them you saw a new package and that you wanted to change your plan.  They will tell you that the new plan is only for new customers.  Then, they tell you that what they can do is give you free HBO/Cinemax for 90 days.  Agree to them and hang up.  In about an hour, you have HBO/Cinemax for 90 days.  MARK DOWN 88 DAYS FROM NOW!  On day 88, login to your account on Verizon.com and cancel the HBO/Cinemax promotion.  The next day, "rinse and repeat".  That's right, call them up again and say that you want to change your package.

VZINSIGHT (THE CALL TRACKING SYSTEM VERIZON USES) DOESN'T SHOW YOUR HISTORICAL PROMOTIONS!!  They don't know that you had the promo package yesterday.  They only see what you have today.  Now, they can go ahead and pull up your historical records but the immediate screen doesn't show that.  The customer service is so understaffed that they don't have time to do that unless you specifically ask for it and even then, most of the reps don't care.  They aren't losing money.  It costs Verizon $0.002/month to give you free HBO/Cinemax.  That's right!  The shear volume of people who are stupid enough to pay for it more than covers for giving it away.  So, here are the numerical steps on doing this.

1) Get Verizon FIOS at 1-800-Verizon.
2) After your initial 90 days of free HBO/Cinemax that you automatically get, CANCEL the movie package online.  Make sure to cancel on day 89 or before or they WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THE MOVIES!
3) Call in the next day saying that you wanted to switch package and get the free movies again.
4) Mark down 88 days from now.
5) Cancel the movie packages.
6) Call the next day and say you want the promo package (which they are constantly running) and get the free movies again.
